Team Vera Bradley Foundation

The ValueAct Capital Women’s Pro Cycling Team has a new title sponsor. The team will be partnering with Vera Bradley and the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer. Our goal? To win races and raise awareness of the importance of breast cancer research.

Vera Bradley has earned a reputation as a leader in the gift industry. Creating stylish quilted cotton luggage, handbags and accessories, the company combines smart product designs with distinctive and colorful fabrics and trims. The company is based in Ft. Wayne, Indiana and has retail stores across the country.

Vera Bradley began to raise funds for breast cancer in 1994 and established the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer in 1998. Since that time, the Foundation has raised nearly $10 million and completed two major endowments to the Indiana University's School of Medicine. These gifts represent the single largest philanthropic resource for IU's program. In early November, the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer committed to raising $10 million for breast cancer research at the Indiana University Melvin and Bren Simon Cancer Center. We intend to support the Foundation in reaching this goal.

As a team, we have committed to raising $22,500 for the Foundation through donating a portion of our prize money, collecting donations at the clinics, events and group rides we organize at Specialized dealers across the country, and giving fans, friends and family the opportunity to donate directly to the Foundation through our team website. Vera Bradley will provide us with luggage and additional product in the breast cancer print "Loves Me" (10% of sales of this print is donated to the Foundation) for our use throughout the year.
